George Russell has revealed that Mercedes team mate Kimi Antonelli is primed to help him with a tow during Qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, despite their respective quests for the 2026 world title. Russell arrives at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza 59 points behind Antonelli in the Drivers' Championship standings, having claimed two Grand Prix victories to the Italian’s six so far this season. Antonelli, however, will drop to the back of the grid for his home race due to a full power unit change, ruling him out of pole position contention before the weekend has even started....

Oscar Piastri believes he and McLaren have “got ideas on how we can make things better” ahead of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, after the Australian has struggled for performance in recent races. Team mate and reigning World Champion Lando Norris has put McLaren back on top in Formula 1 after winning the two previous races in Hungary and the Netherlands. Although Piastri fought for the win in the former before retiring, he was noticeably lacking pace compared with Norris at Zandvoort, finishing 32 seconds adrift of the race winner....

Max Verstappen has admitted that he and Red Bull “need to be realistic” about their chances at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix, with the Dutchman setting out the aim of “just trying to have a good weekend”. Verstappen’s home event last time out in Zandvoort ended in disappointing fashion after he suffered a crash at the end of the first lap, putting him out of the running while stand-in team mate Liam Lawson salvaged points for the squad in P7....

Rafael Camara earned pole position in FIA Formula 2 Qualifying at Monza, setting a 1m 31.326s for top spot ahead of Invicta Racing team mate Joshua Duerksen. The Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy talent secured pole on his provisional attempt as the fight for track position in the final moments of the session left plenty of drivers unable to improve. It’s an important pole for the Brazilian’s title hopes, too, with current championship leader Nikola Tsolov down in sixth place....

Two penalties given to Pierre Gasly during the Monaco Grand Prix have been reinstated following an appeal brought by McLaren and Red Bull, meaning that the Alpine driver has dropped from third to seventh in the race results. Gasly crossed the line in P3 but had two separate five-second time penalties applied to his time after the race due to speeding in the pit lane. A Right of Review requested by Alpine subsequently saw his penalties rescinded by the stewards and his third place reinstated....

Freddie Slater took a brilliant F3 pole position at Monza, seizing the advantage going into the weekend over title rival Ugo Ugochukwu, who is left at the back of the grid for both races. With Qualifying split into two groups around the Italian venue, the TRIDENT driver ran in Group B and completed a 1m 38.114s to take pole from his team mate Matteo De Palo. De Palo was fastest in Group A on a 1m 38....

George Russell finished fastest in Free Practice 2 ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, with Charles Leclerc splitting the Mercedes drivers as Kimi Antonelli was third. Russell posted a 1m 22.559s, which left the Mercedes driver 0.120s clear of Leclerc’s Ferrari, with Antonelli - who is due to start at the back of the grid for the Grand Prix after taking an engine change - just 0.021s further back. All 22 regular drivers were back in action for FP2 after Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon and Sergio Perez missed the opening, one-hour session as their respective seats were taken by F1 rookies....
