Russell had made a strong launch when the 24-lap event got underway and - despite seeing his advantage ebb and flow at times - the Mercedes driver managed to maintain a decent lead over Norris as the laps progressed....

George Russell has reflected on his dominant victory in the Zandvoort Sprint, with the Briton explaining how he relied on effective tyre management to keep rivals like Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris at bay. Starting from pole position - which he beat McLaren’s Norris to by just 0.041s in Sprint Qualifying - Russell executed a clean start at lights out to maintain the lead, where he remained for all 24 laps....

Leclerc praises Ferrari’s ‘homework’ amid Sprint tyre gamble

Charles Leclerc was pleased that his and Ferrari’s gamble to start on the soft tyres in the Dutch Grand Prix Sprint paid off, with the Monegasque believing that his climb to P2 showed the squad had “done our homework”. When the tyre blankets were removed ahead of the 24-lap event, it was revealed that only Leclerc and Haas' Ollie Bearman had bolted on the C4 rubber as the rest of the field opted for the C3 medium compound....

Norris concedes McLaren ‘not quick enough’ in Zandvoort

Lando Norris believes that McLaren are “not quick enough” with their current set-up in Zandvoort, where he dropped behind Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and clung onto the final podium position during the Sprint. The reigning World Champion missed out on pole position by just 0.041s to Mercedes' George Russell, but the small margin suggested that he may have been able to fight for victory over the 24-lap event. Although he started well and stayed close to the leader, his pace gradually fell away and he reported that he had “no rear”, allowing Leclerc to reduce the gap before he eventually took the inside line at Turn 1 and sailed past on Lap 18....

Antonelli set for grid penalty at Italian Grand Prix

Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff has confirmed that Kimi Antonelli is set to take a grid penalty at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix as a result of a planned engine change. The standings leader currently holds an advantage of 53 points over Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton and would become the youngest-ever World Champion if he seals the 2026 title, but he will face a significant obstacle at his home event in Monza....

Norris denies Russell pole position in Dutch GP Qualifying

Lando Norris seized a spectacular pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix under the threat of rain, edging out Mercedes' George Russell and Kimi Antonelli in the final minutes of Qualifying. The McLaren driver braved one more lap as the weather worsened at the Circuit Zandvoort, earning the top spot with a time of 1m 11.163s in a tense conclusion to the session. While he comprehensively beat Russell by a tenth, the Mercedes pair were extremely close as they took P2 and P3, with Oscar Piastri securing P4 after he looked like the fastest driver on track for the majority of Qualifying....
